About Us

Pony Club is a youth movement and uses horses as a focal point of interest to train its members in the aims and objectives.The Pony Club member must learn to understand and care for their pony while at the same time learning to improve their riding skills. Aims and objectives of Pony Club include encouraging young people to ride and to learn to enjoy all kinds of sport connected with horses and riding, to provide instruction in riding and horse-mastership and to instill in members the proper care of their animals and to promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty, thereby cultivating strength of character and self discipline. The Pony Club association is the association of all affiliated Pony Clubs in WA (approximately 75 clubs throughout the State). Pony Club does not cater specifically for people with a disability, the Riding for the Disabled Group (RDA) does this. However, individual Pony Clubs may have facilities and/or helpers/instructors to cater for children with disabilities.
