About Us
Meraki Muse
Meraki Greek. [may-rah-kee] doing something with soul, creativity, or love – putting something of yourself into what you’re doing. Leaving a piece of yourself in something you create.
Muse. A source of inspiration.
Meraki Muse strives to share opportunities for creativity, utilising music as a resource for self-expression, helping people to develop a sense of belonging and connecting people of all abilities.
Meraki Muse provides professional and friendly Music Therapy services focusing on supporting children, adolescents and families.
Music Therapy
Music therapy is a research-based allied health profession in which music is used to actively support people as they aim to improve their health, functioning and well-being. It can help people of all ages to manage their physical and mental health and enhance their quality of life.
You don’t need to be musical to take part in or benefit from music therapy. Qualified music therapists plan and provide musical experiences for their clients. Each session is tailored to the needs and goals of the client.
Music therapists are committed to supporting people of any age, ability or background. They work across the full age spectrum from newborn children through to older adults.

Samantha Craig
Meraki Muse Director. RMT. MMT. BMus
“I have always had a passion for music, growing from a childhood hobby to an ever-expanding career. I can’t imagine spending my life doing anything else, so when people ask, “If you could undertake any other career, what would it be?” I would always respond with something musical (composer, conductor, songwriter), music is a part of who I am, and I would never want to change that.“
Samantha Craig has a clear vision for Meraki Muse. This vision is focused on utilising music to support those experiencing adversity to find a voice, a way of self-expression, improve general health and wellbeing and improve relationships both personal and in the community. Samantha is currently working with children, adolescents and families to help them achieve their personal goals through music.
Samantha gained a Bachelor of performance from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and a Masters of Music Therapy from the University of Melbourne and is a Registered Music Therapist with the Australian Music Therapy Association. Samantha has also gained songwriting experience through Berklee College of Music and Psychological first aid through Johns Hopkins University.
Samantha also has experience teaching violin and performing in various music ensembles and genres on different musical instruments.
Although Meraki Muse was established in 2012, a small company used for performing, Samantha has grown Meraki Muse into a company focused on community engagement and providing opportunities. Meraki Muse now operates various group music therapy programs, teaches violin in primary and secondary schools, performs at local and corporate events and has held education sessions about the importance of music and music therapy.
As a company focused on Music Therapy, Samantha has gained experience working in hospital settings, palliative care, disability, mental health, community settings and fostering positive relationships.
Samantha has a vision for Meraki Muse’s future. She continues to work toward those goals, planning for Meraki Muse to have a hub of operations for people to come and experience all things musical, fostering community inclusion, education and developing a musical identity.
