About Us

YouthReach South provides specialised mental health services to young people aged 13-24 years with complex, and/ or persistent and/ or severe mental health difficulties, or experiencing significant symptoms and at-risk of developing a long-term illness. YouthReach South provide counselling, therapy and case management to young people who are experiencing significant barriers in accessing other mainstream supports. Barriers typically include homelessness, transience, limited support networks, cultural barriers including ATSI identity and marginalisation due to diverse sexuality and gender.

YouthReach South provides a welcoming, trauma informed, flexible approach with assertive outreach to support engagement and retention of young people in the assessment and treatment of their mental health problems. The services aim to improve the functioning and quality of life for young people with complex mental health needs. These services are provided by social workers, clinical nurses, clinical psychologists, ATSI mental health practitioner with limited psychiatry also available.

YouthReach South is part of the Integrated Triage Service which incorporates YouthLink, Youth Axis and the Gender Pathways Service (GPS).

Operates Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm on 1300 362 569.

Referrals can be received from a variety of sources including self and family, community members, GP's, mental health services, Emergency Departments and community managed organisations.
