About Us

Arthritis is a name for a group of conditions affecting the joints. These conditions cause damage to the joints, usually resulting in pain and stiffness. Arthritis can affect many different parts of the joint and nearly every joint in the body
Osteoporosis is a condition in which the bones lose density, become fragile and tend to break more easily

Musculoskeletal Australia is the peak body representing people living with conditions such as osteoarthritis, back pain, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and more than 150 different musculoskeletal conditions offering:
* Help Line - a nurse can provide information on medication or assist with information about the health system or enquirer can speak with a person with a lived condition - who can provide information
* Advocacy on behalf of people with muscle.bone and joint conditions
* Statewide network of peer support groups
* Webinars for health professionals and people with muscle, bone and joint conditions
* Research
* Youth and Family services - for families with children living with Juvenile Arthritis
* Community speakers to speak about arthritis or osteoporosis to other community groups
* Library for people with arthritis and related conditions, the general community and health professionals
* Assorted information sheets on related topics and for people who speak languages other than English
* Leader training and professional development
* Health programs training leaders in Tai Chi for Arthritis, strength training for chronic illness, Nordic walking, warm water and chair based exercise
