About Us

About Us

Stanthorpe Film Society generally shows films on the first Saturday of the month at the Arcadia Cinema, Stanthorpe.

Films are selected in consultation with members and we aim for a mix of genres, including both modern and older classics. Films should not be generally available in commercial cinemas. The Society also runs at least one Fund Raising evening each year.

We usually present the Manhattan Short Film Festival in Spring each year.

Screening starts at 7.00pm, doors open at 6.30pm. We operate a limited bar and pizza can be ordered prior to the film for delivery at the interval. Tea and Coffee are available free of charge.

The Society endeavours to support the community spirit of Stanthorpe and is based at the historical venue of The Stanthorpe Cinema, the Arcadia. The Arcadia Theatre entrance can be found via Arcadia Lane, off Railway Street, between the Post office, and IGA.

Come and join us to meet like-minded people in a convivial and relaxed environment with great entertainment.

The Stanthorpe Film Society is part of the Australian Film Societies Federation and is a not-for-profit organisation and is run by volunteers.
