About Us
This is a 100% trail course across rough ground with hills and a small creek crossing. The start is approximately 200 metres from the briefing point at the northern end of Sports Lane. From the start the course heads up the hill back towards Sports Lane before turning around 180 degrees and running back to the start line to turn around 180 degrees once again and turn left after 50 metres up a small section of single track to Bower's Break track. The course turns right up Bower's Break and heads straight up the hill to the gate near the Jinker Track. Turn 180 degrees run on to the GT track across the creek to the gate at Duggandan Road. Turn around and reverse the same route, ending at the top of the hill near Sports Lane. The course runs through Bunyaville Regional Park with dry sclerophyll forest and a small area of dry rainforest along the small creek. The park provides habitat for a variety of fauna including birds, snakes, wallabies, ticks and spiders. Bunyaville Regional Park is a shared multi-use recreational area frequented by mountain bike riders and hikers. Facilities The Pine Hills Dirt Racing club allows Bunyaville parkrun use of the nearby toilets. There are no nearby drinking fountains so please ensure that you bring plenty of water. Getting There Location of startThe run starts approximately 200 metres from the end of Sports Lane, James Drysdale Reserve, Bunya with the briefing held at the northern end of Sports Lane car park. Getting there by public transportUnfortunately there is no nearby public transport operating at the time of the event. Getting there on footFrom Old Northern Road, turn into the Jinker track and follow for 3.5 km. Turn right after the large green sign - James Drysdale Recreational Reserve. Pass the SES brick building and take the first right into Sports Lane. Continue north to the bottom of the hill where a dirt racing track, netball courts and eucalyptus forest can be seen. If coming from Collins Road. Turn into the Jinker Track and after 150 m take the first Left into the James Drysdale Recreational Reserve. Follow directions from SES building as above. Getting there by roadFrom Old Northern Road, turn into the Jinker track and follow for 3.5 km. Turn right after the large green sign - James Drysdale Recreational Reserve.
