About Us
Canberra Quilters is a diverse group ranging from beginning quilters to professional quilt makers and includes authors, journalists and teachers among the membership. Many members have won distinctions and awards both nationally and internationally, have had work featured in publications and have authored well-known patchwork and quilting books.
Canberra Quilters offers annual exhibition, a full palette of workshops, an annual retreat, a teacher accreditation program and a quilt appraisal service. A quarterly newsletter, Connecting Threads, is published and provided to members.
Meetings are held in regular cycles throughout the year, usually from February to December. Members of Canberra Quilters enjoy a variety of activities at both day and evening meetings – guest speakers, a lending library, show and tell, raffles and, of course, supper or morning tea. Do check the calendar of events for the next meeting to suit you!
Evening meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month except January. Come along at 7pm as this gives you time to visit the library and catch up with friends before the 7.30pm start. They are held in the hall at the Cook Community Hub, Templeton Street, Cook.
