Mackay Shed Happens

Shed Happens Mackay is part of a national network of grassroots men’s groups that provide a safe, welcoming space for men of all ages to connect, share, and support one another. We believe in the power of authentic conversation and mateship to improve men's mental health and strengthen families and communities.

Our primary event is Shed Night, held on the third Wednesday of every month. These nights are informal gatherings where blokes can listen to real-life stories, have a yarn, and enjoy a relaxed, judgment-free environment. We also host additional events throughout the year that may include breakfasts, barbecues, family-friendly outings, or guest speaker nights.

What we do:

• Host monthly Shed Nights (third Wednesday)

• Share personal stories and encourage open conversations

• Provide support for men doing it tough

• Create opportunities for mentorship and friendship

• Run occasional community and family events

Who we aim to help:
We welcome men of all ages and backgrounds, especially those who feel isolated, stressed, or just need a place to be heard. Whether you're a young bloke navigating life, a father under pressure, or an older man looking for mateship—there’s a place for you at the Shed.

Restrictions:
We’re a men’s-only group, though we do hold the occasional family event or ladies’ night. No registration is required to attend, and $10 for BBQ dinner—just show up.
